Apple Filling Ingredients
- 6 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Topping Ingredients
- 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 3/4 cups certified gluten-free oats
- 1/2 cups almond meal
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cups butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Toss apples in lemon juice, white sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- Place apple mixture in a 9-inch square baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar, oats, almond meal, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until well blended.
- Stir in the melted butter.
- Place the oats mixture on top of apples in your baking dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes (or until golden brown and bubbly).
- Top with gluten-free ice cream, whipped topping, or sliced almonds, if desired.
