As suggested by the name, spot-targeting is an attempt at adding - or cutting - fat from a specific part of the body. And while it may be tempting to add certain foods to your diet in an attempt to increase the size of your behind, this technique is unlikely to be successful. In fact, Nutrition Therapy and Pathophysiology notes that targeted body fat gain is nearly all-out impossible. Instead of adding body fat to their butt alone, individuals who increase the number of calories that they eat will likely notice an over-all increase in the amount of body fat - including in their behind.
Add Weight With Extra Calories
When it comes to weight balance, not all foods are created equal. While certain foods - such as those high in protein - provide only four calories per gram, high-fat foods may provide as many as nine calories in the same serving size, reports the University of California at Los Angeles. It should come as no surprise, then, that high-fat foods are generally considered to be "calorically dense" - or items that contain many calories for their serving size. If you want a bigger butt, and don't mind extra weight all over your body, you can eat foods high in calories.
High Fat Foods
In general, adding foods that are more calorically dense - such as those which are high in fat - results in over-all weight gain, including in the butt. Oils, nuts, avocados and margarine or butter are considered to be high fat foods, notes the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). According to WebMD, commercial baked goods, canned entrees, snack chips or crackers and cured meats like bacon are also high in fat.
Carbohydrates
Eating carbohydrates in excess may result in weight gain. According to Nutrition Therapy and Pathophysiology, foods that contain substantial amounts of highly processed carbohydrates - like white bread, pasta, soda, candy and sweets - are especially prone to lead to weight gain.
Fruits, starchy vegetables, dairy products and legumes are also high in carbohydrates, and can lead to over-all weight gain, including in the butt, when eaten in excess.
Exercise Works Better
In addition to making dietary changes, incorporating certain types of exercise - like resistance training - into your lifestyle may be helpful when it comes to increasing the size of your butt. For optimal results, be sure to incorporate exercises that target this body part. Squats, lunges, and deadlifts are all exercises that increase muscle mass in the butt, and can make this body part appear larger.
Spot-Targeting With Food
Individuals who increase their intake of calorically dense foods - such as those which are high in fat and carbohydrate - will likely notice an increase in over-all body size. Adding certain exercises to your workout routine can be a helpful addition when attempting to increase butt size. Unfortunately, there are no specific foods that will lead to weight gain in the butt alone.
